Squid Game and Alice In Borderland both have a completely new concept. Earlier series portraying apocalypse and zombies were more in trend, but Squid Game brought a revolutionary change.

Squid Game
Script and Launch
Initially, it appeared to be disturbing. The creators, both the real and the ones in the reel, seemed psychologically ill. But later episodes proved that the creator Hwang Dong-hyuk wasn’t sick but instead a genius.
Geniuses often get such tags because they dare to think differently, something out of the box.
The making of Squid Game also has an inspiring story. Hwang Dong-hyuk got the idea of the show from his financial struggles. The script completed in 2008 got rejected for almost a decade. But he fought all the odds and brought this masterpiece to us on Netflix.
The Game
In the game, players got selected depending upon their financial, social, and criminal status. All they needed to do was to follow the rules and complete the task. If they complied with the game rules, they won the game. Whereas if they weren’t able to, they got eliminated. In other words, the player gets killed.
Players lived in a dormitory and got uniforms and food from the organizers.
Soldiers wore pink/red uniforms with triangles, squares, and circles on their face masks. Their job was to control the game and carry out executions. The geometrical shape determined the rank of the soldier.
The captain of the soldiers wore a strange black mask. He maintained law and order in the game and directly reported to the mastermind of the game.
Alice In Borderland
It is more science fiction, with lasers firing from the sky with precise accuracy.

Players get kidnapped and forced to play a game.
The fascinating part is that they were at the same spot, but everyone else around them suddenly disappeared. The whole city became a game arena, and only the players lived in that city.
Players somehow got teleported either to another dimension or some mirror world.
Many newcomers were ignorant about it, and because of this, they often got brutally killed.
Unlike Squid Game, they were on their own. They never got shelter, clothes, or food. Instead, they got a visa. This visa was the number of days that allowed them to stay alive without playing the game. If they didn’t play a game by the end of that visa, they got killed.
Comparison
Netflix recently announced that it had crossed 111 million viewers. That number tells a lot about the popularity and quality of the show. Despite such a viewership, many didn’t like the show.
The story of both series is exceptional. However, Squid Game is slightly better than Alice In Borderland, though the latter is more intense at times. The suspense, games, engagement, and emotional stress seem more realistic in Squid Game.
Some of the episodes become too cheesy, especially during the last few episodes. But overall, the show is excellent and is a must-watch, especially if you liked Squid Game.
Season 2
Though by the end of Squid Game season one, viewers get almost all the answers related to the series, the way player 456 decided not to board the flight despite the warning by the captain. We can anticipate season two.
By the end of Alice In Borderland, it was made clear that there shall be season two.
Fans can’t wait for the next season of both shows.
Is there a better show?
Is there any other show as good as Squid Game or Alice In Borderland, if not better?
There is, and that show isn’t like any of these. It’s more like Breaking Bad. I will write about it in my next blog. Therefore, don’t miss it. Read about it in the Links section at the bottom of the blog.
