Will it accept our belief in God as its God, exploit it, or declare itself a God? Will quantum computing, mathematical algorithms and big data make AI a new God? Or will it accept the human as its creator and God?

Usually, AI learns from past data, predicts the future, and acts accordingly.

Even the good and evil deeds of human ancestors in the past. These historical and current data are widely available on the internet, and most are accessible to everyone, even to AI.

Will it not analyse all this information if it can?

Sandrovich Yabako wrote, and Daromeon illustrated Kengan Ashura, a Japanese manga series. The series is an action-packed martial arts-based thriller that was serialized in Shogakukan’s manga app Ura Sunday from April 2012 to August 2018. Larx Entertainment adapted the manga into an anime series that first aired in July 2019. The series has since gained a significant following and popularity amongst fans of the genre, thanks to its unique characters, compelling storylines, and excellent action scenes.

In an alternate version of Japan, corporations sponsor gladiator-style fights between hired fighters to resolve business disputes in Kengan Ashura. The story follows Tokita Ohma, a powerful fighter hired by the influential Nogi Group to represent them in the annual Kengan matches that determine the most powerful corporation in Japan. The series follows Ohma and his struggles as he competes in the tournament, makes alliances and enemies, and uncovers the secrets of the Kengan matches.

Characters

One of the strongest aspects of Kengan Ashura is its characters. The series has a vast and diverse cast of characters, each with their unique personalities, backstories, and fighting styles. The characters are well-developed and are one of the most enjoyable aspects of the series. The main character, Tokita Ohma, is a skilled fighter with a tragic past and a desire to prove his strength. Other notable characters join him, including Kure Raian, a ruthless fighter from a clan of assassins, and Kuroki Gensai, an experienced fighter with a mysterious past. The series also features female characters such as Nikaido Ren, who is a skilled fighter and strategist, and Yamashita Kazuo, a former businessman who becomes a manager for the fighters.

Action

Another highlight of the series is the action scenes. The fights are intense and well-choreographed, with each fighter having their unique style and abilities. The series effectively showcases the various martial arts styles used in the fights, making the battles highly entertaining to watch. The animation and sound design in the anime adaptation is also excellent, adding to the overall impact of the action scenes.

Story

The story of Kengan Ashura is also engaging and keeps the audience interested throughout. The series is not just about the fights but also the politics behind the Kengan matches and the motivations of the various corporations and their representatives. The storylines are well-developed, with many plot twists and unexpected turns, which keep the audience on the edge of their seats. The series also does an excellent job of balancing the action and drama, making it an engaging and emotional watch.

Ratings

Kengan Ashura has received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. On MyAnimeList, the series has a rating of 7.83/10 based on over 180,000 votes. On IMDB, the series has a rating of 8.2/10 based on over 2,500 votes. The series has also been praised for its animation, character development, and intense action scenes. However, some viewers have criticized the series for its slow pacing in the beginning and the amount of fan service present.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Kengan Ashura is an excellent martial arts-based action series that is worth watching. The series has a unique premise, well-developed characters, and fantastic action scenes. While the pacing can be slow at times, and there is some fan service, these issues do not detract from the overall quality of the series. If you are a fan of action anime, Kengan Ashura is definitely worth checking out.

Alice in Borderland season 2 breaks the barriers of suspense and thrillers. From a techno-thriller, it becomes a metaphysical, psychological thriller, giving the viewer a sense of a rollercoaster ride. Making the fans believe in one cause over another makes them wonder what is real and what is not. The intensity of the thrill increases with every episode.

Many new characters are introduced in the season. Players now play to win face cards, the kings, queens, jacks of hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades.

Things brilliantly portrayed

Suspense

As said at the blog’s beginning, brilliant psychological techno thrilling story. It becomes mind-boggling, convinces the viewer about one thing,

and something else comes up.

Alice In Borderland
Alice In Borderland

Character Building

The characters evolved. They display courage, team spirit, sacrifice, empathy, martial art skills, survival instincts, and more.

Arisu takes the first steps toward becoming a leader.

Battles and Combats

Brilliant gun battles, hand-to-hand combats, especially with the king of spades. Excellent direction, acting and camera angles made the fight scenes extraordinary.

AI Plays God: Science Fiction That Might Become Reality (Book 1)

Things slightly overdone

Though the series is a must-watch, certain things are overdone.

The Melodrama

There are many aspects to this, but in some scenes and dialogues, the viewer would say, “Okay! I understand, but could you please stop saying this? I’m feeling awkward.”

The Dead Keep Coming Back

No, it is not a zombie movie or series, but many of the characters previously presumed dead in season one pop out of nowhere.

Not just the dead from the previous season but from season two. The characters walk among and along with them. Even the ones brutally slaughtered.

The show becomes more exciting even with overly melodramatic scenes and the return of characters from the dead.

Expectations

Season two end reveals the truth and explains the cause behind the bizarre change in the world. However, a joker card on a table at the end returns the mysterious twist.

Usually, many card players place the joker card at the bottom of their pack while dealing, preventing other players from peaking at the card. These are also used as replacements for different cards.

That might indicate that the viewer has again been tricked and players are still in the game, suggesting that they have not returned to their original world.

So in season three, we can either expect the players to return to the world of games or the whole world will be forced to play games. One can expect a lot of thrill and suspense from the future series of the show.

Overall the show is absolutely a must-watch.

Eleven’s Childhood

Experiments were carried out on her by a scientist whom every subject called papa. Papa was a complex character. To be concise, papa made her life hell in the facility. Also, she still looked at him as a father figure, hoping he would help her and end her ordeal.

Eleven Stranger Things
Eleven Stranger Things

Although having a difficult childhood, El was lucky to find a fantastic group of friends who stood by her in her time of need. And same can be said for her as well. She, too, always returned to them whenever they needed her, even when they never called for her help.

She learned to speak, read, and write and started living like an average child. Her foster father, Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour, or the better word, would be the guardian who cared, loved and was overprotective, like a guardian angel. So much so that he made sure that the door was kept open for three inches when she was with her boyfriend, Mike Wheeler.

AI Plays God: Science Fiction That Might Become Reality (Book 1)

Finding true love in Mike, played by Finn Wolfhard, was another blessing to the innocent character. The character seemed to evolve as she interacted with other children of her age group. Especially when she dumped Mike’s ass for a short period when he lied to her.

People told her that was her new home, every new place she visited. At least three to four times, if not wrong.

Eleven’s Family

There is nothing much to say about Eleven’s biological family. Papa was not the father but a name given to the head of a scientific facility at Hawkins. He forcibly took her away from her mother to carry out experiments on her. Her mother suffered the trauma, and papa gave her electric shocks, making her mentally disabled. Mainly her family story revolved around papa, whom she fought.

She was delighted when he was attacked by a Demogorgon and thought he had died. His end meant her freedom from all torment. She was shocked to learn that he lived.

When papa met her for the second time in the fourth season, she was not pleased to see him. Instead, she ran and tried to escape. Though he helped her regain and enhance her powers. He pushed her to her limits, and she willingly accepted the dangers and faced the challenges. No matter how difficult and painful those challenges were.

One thing to note is that he sought her forgiveness by saying she understood why he experimented on her before his death. Though she sat next to him near his end and showed remorse — tears came out of her eyes — and said goodbye to him, she did not forgive him because of what he did to her and her mother.

Eleven’s Friends

Talking about her friends, she made a lot of friends, as said earlier. Besides Mike, who loved her, Will Byers cared for her. Though it is unclear what Will thought about El, it can be confidently said that he cared for her, probably because he too faced similar horrors by the Mind Flayer. Will could feel the creatures of another dimension Upside Down as goosebumps behind his neck. That could be some sort of psychological or psychic connection he had with El.

Will was the one who witnessed and felt sorry for El when she was bullied by her classmates. By the end of season four, his feelings for El are unclear. He probably did not come out of his younger self and still wanted to play with fictional characters. El and Mike’s relationship made him feel lonely, as he was attached to them and felt lonely. His brother, Jonathan Byers, consoled him and told him that he would always be there for him whenever he needed him.

But still, there seems to be some suspense angle between Will and El, which might be evident in the next and final season. Probably, Will might be subconsciously connected with El, just like Vecna.

The interesting fact about the group was that no matter where they were, what they did, and what kind of differences the group had, they always united and fought coordinately against evil. A collective, coordinated attack on the monsters from all sides. And El was their lead warrior. The Commander, the Captain, leads from the front and Mike her heart.

Revolt by Eleven

Like most children and teenagers, El revolted against her father, Hopper, when the latter forgot to keep his promise. “Friends don’t lie” was the first thing she learned from her friends, which was hardwired in her brain. She mistook Hopper’s unintentional mistake as a lie and rebelled against him.

She left her home to search for her mother during this time. As a matter of fact, it was only after one of the fights she had with Hopper that she ruckus his house, and then Hopper asked her to clean it. She found the evidence that her mother was still alive and Hopper and Joyce Byers had visited her.

During her visit to her mother, she came across many bitter truths. Truths about her past, her mother, and her papa.

Her anger towards Hopper was not permanent. She came back to him and eventually forgave him.

Eleven’s Dressing Sense

A beautiful girl with absurd dressing sense. No, sir, not her fault; before any reader starts swearing at the writer. The reason was that she never had exposure to the world like a regular child. She would wear whatever she had access to, whether it was Mike’s clothes or Hopper’s.

In the first season, either she can be seen in a shabby old white frock — turned cream and dirty off-white — of Mike’s sister, with a blue jacket or in the white dotted gown — uniform the test subjects — she wore during her bad days at the experimental facility.

Hopper, a single father, had no idea how to raise a girl child. After the death of his child, he isolated himself. But El gave him reason to live. However, limited to his understanding of raising a girl child, he gave the best he could, oversized full-sleeved male shirts and jeans.

Hopper was utterly shocked when she returned to him in season two in a punk outfit. She had run away from Hopper’s care to find her mother’s whereabouts. It leads her to another part of the world. She knew she was not the only one with superpowers in the world. She had a sister who could play with people’s minds by hallucinating them.

Max Mayfield, played by American actor Sadie Sink, helped El to develop her girly fashion sense. She learned there was more to life than just stupid boys during this period. With her, she experienced friendship other than love. El understood that Max had no love interest in Mike. That relieved her a lot. Most importantly, Max and El together purchased a few fashionable clothes, an exposure that she needed for her own healthy growth.

Though she returns to her old style in season four. In one of the episodes, Hopper purchased a shirt until he made clear that he bought it for himself; most viewers had an impression that he had purchased it for El.

Eleven’s Young Adulthood

Most of the students in college sometimes or the other get bullied. Unfortunately, it was in the core. From a psychological perspective, children who were dominated, abused or assaulted tend to release anger on their weak mates. The same was in the case of Billy Hargrove. Since the blog was on the character development of El, we will analyse Billy’s character in a different blog. But he was an example of a troubled child. And El, too, faced bullies when she joined her college.

Disrespecting the hero who saved not just Hawkins but the country and the world, El’s father Hopper was insulted by the bullies of her class. Though she wanted to punish them by using the powers but could not as she lost those. In the real world, people don’t have superpowers. They cannot make the problems disappear telepathically. As or matter of fact, problems disappear by themselves. We, the people, need to face it. And so does the character.

The mature part of the character can be seen when she chooses not to disclose her problems at college to her boyfriend, Mike. In her letters, she tells him that she has made many friends, and they seem to like her a lot.

Facing bullies in college and fighting them without her superpowers was another significant development in her character. Getting violent and assaulting her bully was something none of her friends appreciated, though they stood by her.

Reuniting with papa was another big event in her life. Not only from the perspective of getting her powers back but also facing the man responsible for her ill-treatment. Knowing him better. And the actual person responsible for complete chaos.

Eleven’s Superpowers

Telekinetic and telepathy were her powers. To reach any person anywhere, in any dimension. The only time she failed, other than the ones when she was forced as a child to find one, was to see Max when the latter went into a coma.

She opened the gate of another dimension. Though she opened it unintentionally, it was the dimension of the world that had demons and monsters. The world that was opposite to theirs. Opening the gate required immense power and strength.

Not only did she open the gate, but she closed it as well, multiple times.

Move objects, read and manipulate the minds of anyone. Apart from finding friends, El entered Max’s subconsciousness to fight Vecna. She had done this earlier when she entered Billy’s brain and looked at his disturbing childhood. She got sympathetically connected to Billy.

In one of the episodes, with her powers, El pulled a locomotive. In another episode, she picked and calmly kept thousand tons of metal telepathically. That showed the intensity of strength she possessed.

Her strength can also be seen in an episode where she destroys a military chopper.

The burst of massive energy was another power she had. Viewers witnessed that when she used it to throw the MPs off her during her second-time captivity by papa.

Speaking of powers, one should not forget that she was the only one among the other special children Vecna could not kill. Though they were proving out to be better than her. She threw Vecna like a small toy, not once but many times. First time when she was not even half his age and threw him into the other dimension. The second time when she fought with him was in Max’s dream. She tossed him into the air just like he did to his victims.

Eleven’s Fight with Demons

In Stranger Things, demons were creatures from the parallel world. A world in different dimensions was opposite to our natural world. Supernatural demons need supernatural heroes. Though many other children have superpowers, El was the only one papa could control.

The creepy flower-head creature Demogorgon with teeth inside the petals, tore flesh from its victim’s body in a flash. El killed the beast with absolute ease.

Her powers grew with time, other than the short period when she lost these. She defeated the creatures in all seasons. Of course, she is the protagonist, after all.

The final fights, especially in seasons two and four, were brilliant. Other than fighting incarnated demons like the papa, Lt Colonel Sullivan, the soldiers and the MPs who tortured her, El fought the actual ones, Mind Flayer, Demogorgon and Vecna. She closes the door to the other dimension in season two.

Conclusion

Actually, it is difficult to predict what the future holds for El. What kind of fate have writers decided for her? But it certainly will be exciting.

Will will probably sacrifice himself to protect El and Mike; El might get killed, or Mike might get killed, Max might, or somebody else like Steve, Lucas, Dustin, or even Hopper.

Or writers might be generous and will not kill any other lead character. Eddie’s death in season four was something that many viewers did not like. Though there is a love triangle between Steve, Jonathan, and Nancy. Writers might end it with the death of Steve or Jonathan or simply might kill Nancy.

It is currently difficult to say what impact any of the character’s death will have on El. She had been sensitive to her friends.

The writers have released a teaser showing a whiteboard with a grid with column titles Episodes one, two, three up to eight, with a double line after episode four, probably meaning that there might be two parts of the finale like the Ozark series.

If you’re a fan of Korean dramas, you might want to check out this hidden gem that may have slipped under your radar. It’s a light-hearted romantic comedy with 18 episodes that aired from August to September 2011, and it’s an absolute must-watch.

Vagabond 2019

This brilliant show got the highest viewership in its timeslot. Originally it was telecasted on SBS Network but is now available on Netflix.

The show is about a man who is in pursuit of the killers of his orphaned 12-year-old nephew. He was one of the passengers out of 211 who got killed on flight B357 that crashed. The crash deliberated for business and political gains by influentials.

The chain of events opens pandora’s box. Just like onion skins, one by one new higher level of conspiracy gets revealed.

Again the only drawback with the series is that it’s only in the Korean language. However, the English subtitles solve the problem.

Netflix Bodyguard is a must-watch thriller show that has an IMDb rating of 8.1/10 and 93% Rotten Tomatoes.

The story revolves around a former British Army war veteran David Budd (Richard Madden). He is currently working in the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch of London’s Metropolitan Police Service as a Police Sargent. His assignment is to protect the Home Secretary Julia Montague MP and is her Personal Protection Officer.

The show currently has only one season containing six episodes. There are talks about season two over the internet, but the dates are yet to be confirmed.

PS Budd while on-duty

PS Budd happens to be a determined and focused officer. At work, he could sense subtle situations that could jeopardize Julia and avert it. The first episode, for instance, demonstrates the level of expertise the officer has in tackling an adverse and critical situation, where a couple of bombers took the whole train hostage.

Stern looks, alert mind, swiftness, highly trained combatant are just a few of his qualities as a PPO. His ability to tackle such extreme situations is due to his military and police training.

PS Budd while off-duty

His persona changes drastically during his off-duty hours, and he struggles through severe psychological issues caused due to PTSD.

On many occasions, many people around him try to convince him to get counseling, which he always refuses. In one of the episodes, during midnight, he gets drunk and calls his wife, Vicky. He keeps asking her to chat with him, but she refuses and asks him to get help. Going through a troubled marriage, separation with his children, even after loving them, is another side of the story.

PTSD and Depression

It is unclear what caused post-traumatic stress disorder during the initial phase of the story. Some soldiers he knew got killed in action. Viewers are anticipating this unfortunate incident as the probable cause.

The show has a fabulous story, and the actors have performed brilliantly. We hope that the makers of Netflix Bodyguard come up with the new season soon, as the fans are curiously waiting for it.

What next on Netflix? Animals declare war! Watch ZOO https://thehurricanetimes.com/what-next-on-netflix-animals-declare-war-watch-zoo/ Wed, 19 May 2021 20:21:04 +0000 http://thehurricanetimes.com/?p=1590 Review of a completely different kind of series on Netflix named Zoo. All the animals on the planet declare war against humans. Even the ones you love and trust, your pets.

Over the years, man slaved, tortured, and butchered animals for his need and pleasure, unlike animals who kill either because of hunger or to protect themselves from danger. The show is based on a novel named Zoo written by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge. It has a unique concept that focuses on animals, as they become rebellious against us, humans.

The 16+ thriller has ratings of 6.8/10 on IMDb and has 82% Rotten Tomatoes. Irrespective of what ratings are, one enjoys the show.

The pilot episode first aired on June 30, 2015. Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) renewed the third season before canceling the series. The final season of the show was last on air on September 21, 2017. There are 39 episodes in the show.

Story Synopsis

The show starts with series of killings by the pride of lions, male lions. Male lions don’t form pride. There are at the maximum two males in pride, but animals have turned mutant. They behave differently than their natural behavior.

Every episode comes with a different species attacking humans. In one of the episodes, rats plan an attack, and in another, the dogs set an ambush.

These were not the only two or three cases where animals plan a strategy and attack humans. The basis of the series Zoo was on the fact that animals evolve, and they decide to eliminate the human race from the face of the earth.

As they evolve, they started to have inter-species communication over long distances. Zoo is also about evolution versus technology.

Actors

James Wolk played the role of Jackson Oz, a zoologist. He is also known for his starring roles in The Crazy Ones and Mad Men. James won Best Drama Guest Actor for Mad Men in 2013.

Jamie Campbell is a journalist played by Kristen Connolly. She is also known for the film The Cabin in the Woods and the series House of Cards.

Abraham Kenyatta acted as Nonso Anozie, a safari guide. He had also acted in Game of Thrones as Xaro Xhoan Daxos.

Nora Arnezeder is a French actress and singer and has acted in many films. She plays Chloe Tousignant, a French intelligence investigator. Nora’s upcoming film is Army of the Dead.

Billy Burke acted as Dr. Mitch Morgan, a veterinary pathologist. Billy is known for his role as Charlie Swan in Twilight. He had also performed in many films and movies.

And then there are tigers, lions, birds, dogs, cats, and all other animals, all conspiring against the humans.

So, if you plan to watch the series, you won’t have to wait for years for the finale. Therefore, grab your favorite snack and enjoy the show.
